Overview
TSX is a desirable and affordable entry-level sedan from Acura. The 2010 Acura TSX is a well built flagship Acura model that offers more comfort, safety, convenience and driving performance with highly advanced technology features, spacious interior and sporty handling. It has been carefully crafted to honor the original TSX's vision as a world-class sports sedan in every aspect. For 2010, the TSX is also available with a V6 engine.
Power and performance
The five-passenger TSX combines high performance, light weight and fuel efficiency with its 201-hp, 2.4-liter DOHC i-VTEC in-line 4 engine. The 6-speed manual transmission has an EPA estimated fuel economy of 20 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway*. With the automatic transmission, the TSX delivers 21 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway.
A new TSX powertrain - 280 horsepower 3.5L V-6 with sophisticated VTEC valvetrain control and a dual-stage induction system is also available. For maximum performance and efficiency, the engine is mated to Acura's Sequential SportShift automatic transmission, with intelligent features such as Grade Logic Control and Shift Hold Control. If the driver desires, the Sequential SportShift transmission can also be operated manually, via steering-wheel mounted F1-style paddle shifters.
Body and styling
All TSX models are equipped with Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) low-beam headlights for greatly enhanced clarity. The wedge shape of the TSX body allows for a generous 12.6 cubic feet trunk, which can be expanded by dropping the rear seatbacks.
Seventeen-inch aluminum alloy with high-performance all season tires, dual-zone, dual-mode automatic climate control system, leather front and rear seats, three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel with easy-to-use system controls, Multi-Information Display (MID), Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, power windows & moonroof and a 360-watt, 7-speaker audio system are among the standard equipment.
Acura/ELS Surround Sound System, navigation system functionality and controls,
AcuraLink real-time traffic and weather, destination database and a rearview camera are optional.
Safety Features
The TSX comes with a sophisticated six-airbag system, which includes two front and two front side airbags, as well as two side curtain airbags providing coverage for the front and rear seats. Vehicle Stability Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, seat belts and active head restraints, LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) are standard.
